Equestrian Center

Old California's horsemen and women were among the world's finest riders.

Old California’s horsemen and women were reported in 1840 by Richard Henry Dana as the world’s finest riders. Competition among them was friendly, fierce and festive. The more elaborate the costume and more complex the riding technique, the greater was the chance of renown within the small Monterey community. We carry on these Vaquero traditions at the Equestrian Center, but in a less competitive, but no less friendly, environment that is open to all riding disciplines. The Equestrian Center is a rustic, handsomely-designed full-service facility that welcomes both newcomers and the most accomplished rider alikes. We offer top-flight instruction and gentle trail horses suited to all skill levels. The Equestrian Center offers three center
