The Architecture The notion of living in a beautiful home in sustainable harmony with Nature is central to the origin of the Santa Lucia Preserve. Preserve members seek architects capable of realizing their dreams with a residence that is pleasing and nurturing to them and their families. The balance between culture and the great wild is a perennial challenge to architects. Today, many of us see Nature as a paradise about to be lost. Like-minded architects respond with buildings that respect and embrace the natural environment. In concert with Preserve members, they are creating artful residences that stand as the owners' distinctive personal statement, yet are so perfectly compatible with the surrounding landscapes that the entire community is enriched. |
"The Preserve architecture is defined by a distinctive set of principals based on a thoughtful adaptation to the land, climates and legacies of the earlier settlers."
Dave Howerton, Architect and Planner
