The Santa Lucia Conservancy is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization that manages and protects 18,000 private acres of the Preserve for recreation, environmental research, and wildlife habitat for the community.

Permanent conservation easements and endowment funding have been secured to assure that the Preserve is protected from further development and maintained forever.

The long-term mission of the Conservancy is to establish a proven model of compatibility between human settlement and the conservation of natural resources and landscape.
